I got this outfit from Club Couture and can safely say that this is the heaviest skirt I own! It looks expensive from the sequins alone, they are of the square variety as opposed to circular and turn an ordinary skirt into a pure beaut! I also love the asymmetrical detail to the top.

I would also like to mention that I have a few new pieces in my online store Koko & Beau including this rather fetching/weird deer necklace, which I adore, especially when worn with buttoned up shirts.

Also, it was my birthday today! I was so bummed all week that I wouldn't be with my besties in London, but Drew just made it the most perfect day :) We went out for breakfast, then took tons of photo's for my blog (YES!!) then he took me shopping and out to dinner and a movie. Gosh I was so spoilt :) He is literally the best EVEEEER! So in love <3

Valentines Day and Life Update

Hi guys! How was your valentines day? I usually hate it, but this year it was literally just a good excuse to pig out and be loved up as I was actually in the same country as the boy! We went to Moxie's and then to the cinema to see The Sitter which was pretty funny, I'd recommend it. If you follow me on le twitter, you might know that I've been after a long cardigan for a while and I finally found one at Forever 21, on sale too, $8, aaw yeah! I don't know why I love it so much, maybe because it makes me feel like a superhero (it's very cape-esque, especially when running) or because it reminds me of Free People (fave brand ever) or maybe cause it's just plain weird and makes me happy, but for whatever reason, I love it and it's here to stay! On another note, I realized that I haven't updated y'all on my life here in Canada for a while, so that is what I am going to do :)

I'm currently working towards being a visual merchandiser at American Apparel, I've been doing sales for the last month or so and I love the confidence it's given me; having to make conversation with strangers and meeting interesting people. However, I am still unsatisfied with life. I am a creative person and I get bored very easily, so obviously I jumped at the chance to style outfits on mannequins and re-design displays. It's just a very confusing situation because I don't know what hours I can get doing that (because I definitely don't want to do sales any more) or if I'm even going to be promoted. Plus I only worked 17 hours this week at $10 an hour and my rent is $450... aaargh. I just want to do something I'm good at that doesn't make me hate myself and gives me enough money to indulge in my favourite things: fashion and travelling.

I also have a bazillion things to blog about, but haven't had any daylight hours with the boyfriend (aka my photographer) and I miss it so much. Plus it's my birthday next Monday and I always go to London with my besties for a day of shopping and girly fun, but they are thousands of miles away from me and so I don't know what to do. But Drew and I both have the day off, so I'm sure he'll think of something fun :) Hope you are all well my lovelies! I'll hopefully have an outfit for you next week, fingers crossed!

Lets get personal! Those of you who know me well will know that I'm very insecure due to what I went through at school. I am in a constant battle with myself which is probably why I have a blog; my followers and comments are a kind of affirmation that I'm not ugly and fat. (shhh!) I love finding out about people's insecurities, it puts perspective on the fact that everyone has flaws and that beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I dislike:

1. My teeth. I had braces for over a year and somehow my orthodontist made my teeth worse!? I call them 'piranha teeth', I don't have an underbite, but they stick out way too much, and are far too big.

2. My skin because it's CRAP. I have seborrhoeic dermatitis that is incurable and makes me look permanently sick without make-up. I also have acne, which has gotten tons better since uni, but considering I'm turning 23 in 10 days, it's kind of RIDICULOUS and annoying and depressing and takes FAR TOO LONG TO GET READY IN THE MORNING. I hate all you with perfect skin that coat it in foundation, y'all know who you are! My secret weapon? Photoshop.
3. My stomach because it has never and probably will never be completely flat, no matter how skinny I get. Bloody genetics.

I like:
1. My defined cheekbones.
2. My mahoosive, expressive eyes
3. My small boobs and hourglass figure, because I never have to wear a bra and can go clothes shopping without worrying about what will look good on me and flatter my shape, because I can wear anything!

Say hello to the laundry room corridor in my apartment block. C'est beautiful oui? lol. (It's officially minus 40 outside now...not that we talk about the weather :P)

You should have seen the looks I got walking around the mall in this outfit. Bless Winnipeg, haha, someone even asked if I modelled, but alas without my beautiful Lita's I am only 5'5, pah.

But you have to love a statement leg. These leggings were sent to me by Oasap, and considering they are from Japan I was expecting them to be tiny enough for my miniscule legs (I'm working on it) but damn'it, they were still baggy on the calves! Plus these are the only leggings I will happily wear alone due to the faux leather short detail, otherwise... LEGGINGS ARE NOT TROUSERS. Take note thankyou please :)

Oh and the title is what the boyfriend said, lol... boys :P

Say hello to my new shoes! *dies*

I remember when I first saw these beauties online, they were the most amazing shoes I’d ever seen and I neeeeeded them. But alas, I am poor (and they were sold out everywhere) and so I resided with the fact that they would never be mine.

Imagine my surprise when come Christmas morning, I opened a box from my boyfriend and peeling back the paper, the first thing I saw was a sticker that said ‘spike, black silver’. I turned to him and said “are you kidding me!?” and further ripped open the packaging to see a beautiful jeffrey campbell box and inside lay the most amazing, sharp, COOL shoes ever!

Best. Boyfriend. in. The. World.

I just had to team them with this equally divine dress from Love, which they very kindly sent me (thankyou!) and throw on my trusty leather jacket and some gold accessories to complete the look.

Christmas was amazing, I got tons of lovely things, including an xbox, thanks folks! :) Plus the snood from asos I've been lusting over :) I missed my family (especially my cat) and I missed our Christmas dinner! No roast potatoes or carrots or parsnips or broccoli or little sausages with bacon *sigh* But I got to go quading in the snow, which was awesome!

OMG OMG OMG guys!!! I made the front page of Chictopia! I haven't been able to stop smiling since I was picked. I was trying to explain to Drew why it is such a big deal (boys, lol), I said it's like finally being the pretty, popular girl in school. That's how it feels! Getting any kind of recognition for the time and effort you put into your blog/photography/style is amazing, so I'm on such a high right now!

Anyway, onto the outfit! I Bloody love this hat. Drew thinks I'm obsessed with this colour at the moment, which is quite true. It's just perfect for winter and looks beautiful against the snowy whiteness. I can also tell you that this shoot took all of 2 minutes cause it was -6 out, lol. I am tiny and don't do cold! Although I should probably just stop complaining and buy an ugly winter coat. Blah.

Life update! I am now an INTERN! :D Yes, it is unpaid, but it gets me out of the house and meeting new people and I get to learn all about interior decoration and marketing. Yey for me :) Oh and I also have a recruitment company trying to place me in the garment industry, so things are looking up! Plus, its Christmas in 5 days!!! Merry Christmas girls! :D

Oh how I love having a photographer now! Drew is still figuring out how to use my camera and how to focus etc, but look how well he did! :D The lighting was so perfect today too, it's like a new lease of life for my blog! So today me and Drew went shopping/ people watching at the mall. One of our fave activities. We decided that there are far more beautiful girls than boys in Winnipeg and that the boys look like they're from the nineties (backwards baseball caps.. I mean, seriously?) I got a delightfully floppy maroon hat from Forever 21, which will be featured soon and I found two amaaazing dresses in there that are seriously calling my name, just look!:

I can't find them on the website, as I think they're quite new, but they're both around $33 and If I could, I'd get both, not sure where I'd wear the silver one, but they're incredibly flattering and I neeeeed them! :P

Thought I would share with you my new obsession. I only just found this brand through asos (damn all their sales atm, I'm far too tempted!) I adore the Free People website, the styling, the photography and the fact that almost every single girl has bazillions of bracelets on and a long necklace. Pretty average outfit for you today, just an easy look that I wear when I can't be bothered to try very hard. C'est basically just a t-shirt and jeans with a leather jacket thrown on top and a snood on top of that! Note the paint stain that I unsuccessfully tried to wash out of my jeggings. Claaassy...

I need a bloody haircut!!! My god. I know I've been saying this for months, but did I mention the fact that the thought of it terrifies me? And Drew flat out refuses to cut it with the kitchen scissors. Blurgh. All I want for Christmas is ~~you~~ a haircut.

Also decided that I'm going to start taking photographs of myself outside with the whole shallow depth of field thang (ie, a blurry background for those of you unfamiliar with photography jargon) wanna up the quality of the ol' blog for you lovely people :)

Plus I have decided to get fit, I did decide this about two weeks ago and re-started my food diary -which I have kept religiously for the last two years, but let slip when I moved here- however it's insanely easy to eat junk food (and drink!) here and I have completely failed, in fact I think I've gained weight, haha! But I'm trying to get Drew on board with the whole fitness thing, I know he has a six pack somewhere in there! Not that I don't fully accept him the way he is. I just don't have Tamasine to motivate me, so someone has to step in and work out with me... OK DREW! Loves! :P

I dislike it when people assume that to look casual one must wear cotton jersey *cough* hi mum *cough* when in fact, it is so easy to dress down this beaut of a "formal" dress with chelsea boots (gutted they are now on sale!) and a chunky man cardi. Plus since it's winter and bloomin freezing in Winnipeg, it's also an easy way to stay warm and look chic.

In terms of la vie, I am still jobless because I am ultra laze and don't know what job I could possibly do here that I would enjoy, being the creative person that I am *sigh*. Other than that, I've been having lots of fun with Drewface, cause his work hours are better and I've been thinking a lot about what I could do after this year in Canada. I desperately miss my friends and was thinking it would be cool to get them all to London and find a design job and have a flat decorated purely in Zara Home. T'would be a feat of a task, and slightly impossible but a girl can dream! I just want all my girls living together again, with an awesome design/styling job and my boyfriend not in another country. It's not too much to ask... is it? :)

Black Friday & Festivities

Oh Bath and Body Works how I love your candles and how I love Black Friday! I got two for $25 (they are usually $22.50 each) plus they smell amazing and fill the room with sweet scented goodness as opposed to most candles that just look pretty. I'm obsessed! I also got these cuuute headphones from good ol' ebay for $10 because I always lose my earphones, so figured I'd get mass ones that I can't drop somewhere. haha :)

I still haven't got a new job, to be honest I haven't even looked. I'm focussing on Koko & Beau at the minute and have some exciting new things happening for Christmas! So I shall be updating you all on that sooooon! Me and Drew have had 3 days together this week too which has been amazingly awesome, hence the newly decorated tree, I wish he worked mornings everyday :P I also have a product rave that has sorted my skin out... after 2 years of acne hell! No before and after pictures though, I'm not that brave, lol. Hope everyone is well, you getting into the Christmas spirit yet? :)

(p.s. the exposure for the shot of me and Drew was ridiculously long lol, we were standing there like that for about 30 seconds, completely motionless. Love it though :) Makes me feel so happy and Christmassy! God I'm far too loved up, I apologize haha :P)

My Flat!

As promised, a post about mine and Drew's apartment! We are getting a new sofa and a big entertainment unit (both free from friends) soon too, but if I keep waiting for it to look better, you'd never get to see it! :P Plus yesterday I went to Dollarama to find some cheap ways to decorate our boring flat, I came back with string, paper and plastic flowers... hello bunting! So cute, I love it!

In terms of everything else, we got the table from Drew's folks, the sofa free and the red stools for $50 from Kijiji and the vase was $40 from Homesense. We collected the twigs in the vase from Grand Beach to remember our fun day, cause we are big sucks like that :P Oh and Drew made our coffee table, cause he is amazing :P Now we need to hang the picture frames and add the Christmas tree and it will be beaut! How is everyone? Love to you all <3

In love with this skirt! Me and Drew went for a little shopping sesh after I finished work (cause I work in a mall) and had a wee wonder through Forever 21. It's absolutely massive and I could literally buy tons of stuff in there cause its so cute, good job I have lots of restraint. Plus I need to buy clothes from Garage, since I get 50% off and have to represent their brand! Major haul coming up soon!

Nothing much to update y'all on, found out I'm part time at Garage which is a bit strange since I asked for full time, but it's ok, reckon I can make it work, plus I'll get more hours towards Christmas time. I would give you all the goss on my new job, but there is actually a section in the training module on blogging and how we aren't allowed to talk about anything online, haha. Coats, Jobs and Decision Time

After university, I decided that I wanted to update my style to look more professional, and I occasionally do and still have a huge desire to. However, there is a part of me that still loves what I like to call the 'tumblr' look, bright colours, crop tops and long hair lol. Plus I bloody love my furry hat, and sometimes you just don't want to take off your ube comf hoody upon leaving the house. I have however been eyeing up some beautiful coats from Asos/ Aritzia/ Topshop etc and really want a long camel coat similar to these:

Tres grown up, yes? On another note, I officially have a job! I am so surprised how easy it was. Once I actually put myself out there it only took two days to have four offers from different places! (Oh Canada, you amaze me) But then I had the incredibly difficult task of choosing between them. And this is where my post is quite fitting, I got the choice down to Aritzia which is a beautiful, higher end store that sells stunning clothes and Marc Jacobs accessories and where you have to meet a target of $400 an hour and Garage, which is a fun, colourful, teen based store, one where I'd imagine wearing a furry hat would be very much in line with their brand! And the winner was....

It came down to the fact that as this is my first full time job, I don't want the pressure of having to meet such a demanding target of sales per hour and would just feel more comfortable in a younger store which had more team spirit and was much less intimidating. Plus I love the fact that I get to look young, be comfortable and wear hoodies to work, it's the perfect excuse! Haha :P Wish me luck, I start on Wednesday! xxx

Last night I went to a Halloween party with Drew and his mateys. If you didn't know I have a slight obsession with Natalie Portman, so went as a (grungy impression of) the black swan. All I had to buy was a tutu, and hilariously, it turned out to be for ages 4-6... bahaha! Ridiculous, my hips measure 34 inches, what 4-6 year old is that big I tell you! Anyway, it was really fun, I tried to make some girlfriends, but it was bloody difficult. It felt like everyone there already had their group of friends and they just weren't interested in making any more. I told this one girl she looked cute and you should have seen the look she gave me! Like I was some crazy psycho lesbian weirdo.

Anyway! In terms of finding a job, I have actually had some success, shock horror! I handed out 6 resume's on Tuesday and got booked for 4 interviews on the spot, which is madness! They were for American Eagle, Garage, Aritzia and Forever 21. The interviews went well, I hope, and Aritzia offered me a job straight off! It is such an awesome store, check out the website here. Tres chic. However, you have to make $400 an hour to even work there, which is kinda terrifying and I'm not sure I could take the pressure. I have until Monday to decide! What do you guys think?

Hello! Apologies for being such an awful blogger recently, I'm one of those people who, if alone and bored, just doesn't have the motivation to do anything, whereas if I have a productive day, I am much more likely to carry on being productive and blog consistently. Silly me.

Anyway, Drews sister Kenzie just got two 7 week old golden retriever puppies! They are sooo adorable, as is Kenzie's daughter Lily :) I underestimated how tricky it is to take photo's of children and animals, lol, you get maybe 1 good photo in every 15 because they are so energetic!

Update on life here in Canada, I am still looking for a job, I have applied to bazillions online, with no luck, and I have printed 20 CV's (resume's) to hand out at my local mall. I really didn't want to work in a shop because it feels like taking a massive step backwards. I have a degree and I want a proper, well paid gig! But, sacrifices must be made if I want to continue living with my boy and so I will take anything I'm offered, other than working in a call centre or as a waitress!

Plus, anything is better than sitting in my flat, alone, bored and depressed. I just need to get OUT! At least when I do see Drew, which is very rarely, it is amazing. I don't think it's possible to have more fun than we do, just the simplest activities transform into fun adventures. He is the funnest, cutest, most loyal, loving guy in the world.

On another note, I desperately need a haircut, my hair feels like straw... it's not even bleached. SO MANY SPLIT ENDS. I'm absolutely terrified of getting it cut here though as the last haircut I got here turned out to be the worst one of my entire life so far. I think I'm just one of those people who can't grow their hair super long because it just dies and then has to have a major trim to look remotely healthy. I kinda just want to chop it off and go some crazy new colour, brown gets way boring. Anyone have any ideas for me? :)

My Complicated World

Blogging isn't my only love, it is just one of my many ventures! I just updated my website and have been struggling with marketing myself recently, so I thought Id give you a little run-down of everything I do. Maybe you know someone who needs a new blog header or is looking for the perfect gift or needs a wall hanging, I'm your girl and I need your help!

I am a freelance photographer, and absolutely love photography. Family photographs are a huge thing here in Winnipeg and I will be shooting my boyfriends sisters adorable little fam soon to add to my portfolio, which will hopefully get me a few commissions, especially since Christmas is round the corner!

Koko & Beau is my online jewellery store! I really want to expand it to include notebooks and things soon, I just need the materials. I recently lowered the prices to attract more customers, but definitely need some promotion as things have slowed down a lot. I'm also going to try and get into some boutique stores around here, just need to design the packaging! :)

Textile Design! This is what I graduated in, and the pieces above are digitally printed 3m x 1.5m lengths! I would love to sell them as a triptych for a huge office building or display them in an art gallery, but I have so many other things going on! I am always available for freelance work, but know I need to add to my portfolio to include more illustrative works.

And finally, I am a freelance graphic designer! I do lots of blog headers (at a cost of just £15) it is something I really enjoy and would like to do more of! So I'd love it if you could spread the word :D There are so many more things I want to do, such as publish a book and I have tons of ideas for new websites, but at the moment, I will continue to focus my efforts on the above mentioned enterprises! :)

I am so incredibly happy that Drew and I happened to be in Toronto on the night of Nuit Blanche: "For one sleepless night Toronto was transformed by hundreds of artists for the city's sixth annual sunset-to-sunrise celebration of contemporary art. Artists and curators took the concept of audience engagement to new levels. They flew, created massive fire blasts, walked through water and got evicted from a tent city. The public contributed their voices, faces and muscle by the tens of thousands as they animated and collaborated with Scotiabank Nuit Blanche's many interactive art works."

It was absolutely amazing, the entire city was lit up by hundreds of exhibits including video installations, sculptures, music and pure unexplainable awesomeness. Being surrounded by so much art, culture and tons of interesting people, just totally reinforced my desire to live there. Check out drew and his umbrella above! This was the second exhibit we saw and the camera died just after, so I've nabbed a few pics from Flickr:

Then after 4 hours of sleep, we caught a plane to Winnipeg, hurriedly moved into our apartment and rushed to Drew's sisters house for dinner. I was so tired afterwards that I fell asleep in the car on the way back to our flat. I woke up this morning alone, in a beautiful, but messy apartment, a little bemused and fairly scared of this new situation. I unpacked my clothes, had a bath, sat down and stared out the window thinking about all the things I now had to organize, wished Drew was with me on our first day and then walked to the supermarket next to our building. With my list of groceries in hand I fumbled around the store, extremely confused at the non English food and the extortionate prices, again, wished Drew was there to help me, and ended up paying $60 (£37) for bread, pasta, pasta sauce, cheese, mayonnaise, tuna, butter and some vegetables. I almost cried.

I then proceeded to spend the next 5 hours in a cafe, scouring the internet for design companies I could potentially work for, until Drew's sister picked me up and took me to their folks house for dinner. I was so thankful to have some company! It's now almost 11pm and I still haven't seen my boyfriend. I am still really excited about life, but scared in equal measurement. I am going to do a post on my new flat as soon as we get it organized and pretty! Hope everyone is well! And congrats if you made it this far! :P

Feels Like Home

Oh my god. We discovered Queens Street West. Favourite street ever! It was full of cool looking buildings, awesome shops and tons of young fashionistas! I felt so at home. This is the part of Toronto I could see myself living in permanently. It was hilarious because when we were getting ready in the morning, we were watching Much Music, then as we walked past it and peered in, we saw the presenter we'd just seen! Haha. So surreal! She had just interviewed Hugh Jackman, wish we could have seen him too, lol.

That evening, Drew took me out to dinner at The Keg to celebrate our 3 year anniversary (which was on August 14th, lol) and it was sooo good. I had mustard salmon with garlic mash, amazing! Never been so stuffed though. It has to be done! We are flying to Winnipeg tomorrow. I'm excited to see the apartment and move in, but wish we could start life here in Toronto. Hopefully in a few years! Although I really want to check out Vancouver too. Plus there is the whole immigration thing... its so darn difficult!

The Beginning

After the longest, mind numbing flight of my life, I arrived in Toronto and into the arms of the boyf after many many months of being apart! Best. Feeling. Ever! We made everyone in the airport vom with our dramatic, film-like embrace, haha. Then we had to figure out how to get to our hotel and discovered that the bus the most cost effective option. After 3 hours of hopping on and off and on and off and various stretches of walking, we finally arrived! It was definitely an experience, the whole TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) thing, I loved it, Drew got kinda stressy, but I forced him to be more positive! I didn't care how long it took to get to our hotel, we were together, we were in Toronto and it doesn't get much better than that!

Our first day, we jumped on the subway to go downtown. Hello CN Tower! It was so awesome, I love heights and the view was amazeballs. Then we just wandered around, stumbled on the auditions for Canada's Got Talent and went to the Eaton Shopping Centre, which wasn't too impressive because it had pretty much the exact same shops as Winnipeg which I've been in a hundred times before, but it was fun to people watch! By 7pm I was half dead from jetlag, even after consuming an inhumane amount of Starbucks, so we headed back to the hotel, which was a task in itself, to fully collapse into bed.

Think we're going to head down to the more boutique stores today. And there is a mass art event in town on Saturday, so the DSLR will be coming out! I really like Toronto, its freaking huuuge and the people are so diverse. I LOVE TRAVELLING!! :D

Mmmmm, New Shoes

Hellooo lovelies! I trust all is well and everyone is enthused about the changing seasons! It's a little sad to see summer go, who doesn't love tiny shorts and days at the beach? But one does get bored wearing the same clothes all the time, and Autumn marks a huge change in my life, so I am very excited!

I first saw these about 10 days ago and decided to wait for 20% off (thankyou student card that has actually expired, lol) They were £44.99 originally, so I got them for £35.99! Click here to see them online. There is also a cheaper, not so nice, not nearly as cushiony pair here for only £24.99.

Real leather, beautiful rich rusty red colour, contrasting heel, not too high and super cushiony on the inside. Perfect :)

I generally wear my trusted black biker heels when I feel like strutting around, and you might be a little cautious towards the coloured shoe with the dreaded question: 'what do I wear them with?' But they look good with almost everything in my capsule wardrobe and will certainly become my staple shoe for autumn/winter. They look tres chic with my black skinnies, but also look amaze with blue, cream or light grey jeans. New Look styled them with cream ankle socks and tights which also looked ube cute!

In life terms, I'm leaving in TWO DAYS!! Drew secured the 'luxury' apartment (ha, we'll see) And we have all hotels and flights booked! We're spending 4 days in Toronto before flying to Winnipeg as a little 3 year anniversary treat because we weren't together on the actual date. I'm so excited it's unreal... commence extreme tourist mode! This also means I will be taking a bazillion photo's, which no doubt will be shared with you all! :)

Thus, my next blog post will most likely be all about Canada and being reunited with the boyfriend and Toronto Shopping! So long England! Wish me luck! ^^

Me, Tamasine, Megan and Poppy

I went back to my lovely lil' university town on Wednesday to see my beautiful girls and attend graduation. It was amazing to be reunited since we haven't seen each other for almost 3 months! We had one last night out on Thursday and then had to say our final goodbyes on Friday. Since I'm moving to Canada and Tamasine lives in The Netherlands, we don't know when we'll all next be together...MEGA SAD FACE. I am quite a pro at goodbye's considering I've been in a long term relationship for over three years and we all managed to hold it together, but once I got to the train station, realized I'd got the times wrong, missed my train and found out I'd have to wait an hour and a half for the next one and buy a new ticket, it all got a bit too much and I just completely fell apart. Full blown balling at the station, not a good look.

University is amazing and you make the best friends you've ever had, but my gosh, after those three years, the leaving everyone and moving away and starting a completely new life is impossibly terrifying and awfully confusing. On the one hand, you are utterly depressed from leaving behind the amazing life you've made, and on the other, you are uncontrollably excited about the endless opportunities that now exist and where they will take you!

I'm absolutely terrified about starting a new life in Canada, sometimes I just wish people would stop asking me about it, because it is stressing me out like no other! But today Drew found us an open plan apartment in a complex with a gym and rooftop terrace, it sounds amazing and I can't wait to move in with him! I always try to look for the positives in life, and though I'm going to miss my girls like crazy, there's always skype and we will be reunited in a year or so! I'm thinking road-trip around Europe! :D

The Brasserie

It was my parents wedding anniversary today, so we went out for lunch at a beautiful hotel by the coast. Well, I say lunch, all I had was chocolate fudge cake, it was amazing and I totally forgot to photograph it, posh desserts... mmmm! But how cute is the pic of my parents, my dad never usually smiles in photo's too :)

You may have begun to notice that my outfits are all pretty similar. As I'm moving to Canada, I have sold the majority of my stuff, including my wardrobe! So I guess I'm rocking the whole 'capsule wardrobe' thing, get me Gok Wan! Haha. I did tell myself I wasn't going to buy any new clothes either, but what with moving abroad, Im craving a bit of an update and new look, so may have splurged on a few items. I got my mum to take the photo's of me, which usually doesn't work out because she refuses to take more than 2 at any one time. Models Own Volumising Big Brush Mascara Review

I'm not too keen on this mascara purely because it takes so long to achieve the desired effect. My Maybelline Falsies takes about 10 seconds and just 1 coat to get the same effect as the Models Own does in 3 coats! It is a dry formula and kinda spidery, which i personally don't like, although I know some people do! On another note, I finally sorted out my eyebrows! I look groomed, oh yeah! haha :D

I got Big Lash Mascara, Gold Digger, Nyla Nude, Vintage Pink, Buff Pink and a lip brush. My fave is vintage pink, its a very sophisticated colour, a subtle pink that could be worn on any occasion. I was disappointed with buff pink as it took 6 coats to get any colour, and who can be bothered with that amount of faff! I got the gold one to do a black/gold manicure look that I found online which I shall no doubt blog about :) And I'm very impressed with the lip brush, waaaaay better than the elf one! I will review the mascara soon. What did you get from Models Own?

Lipstick Haul!

These are the 3 things I got in my first ever little spend at a blog sale! :)

No.7 Poppy King Lipstick in shade 7 'Allure' is a soft, moisturising sheer colour which is definitely a 'my lips but better' shade.

Bourjous Sweet Kiss Shine Lipstick in shade 74 'Juicy Tangerine' is an amazingly bright colour, a gorgeous pinky red, however it has that typical 'plasticy' lipstick smell which I don't like.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in shade 210 'Coral in Gold' looks very scary in the tube and comes out more of an orangey gold sheen, not sure how I'll wear it tbh, any ideas?

My fave is definitely No.7's Allure, it doesn't feel like you're wearing lipstick and is a subtle shade and as I'm a natural make-up girl most of the time, I love it!

Topshop Haul Fail!

Hello girls! I have had an excellent week for once, no sitting around feeling lonely and bored! On Monday I travelled back to Falmouth to surprise my bff, turned out she wasn't there (and wasn't answering her phone!) but I managed to break into her flat to escape the rain (which was surprisingly easy), find her flatmates number and discover that they were in Redruth which was 40 minutes away. It was a wee bit ridiculous and pretty hilarious, but we were reunited in the end, and it was awesome to catch up! I miss her soooo much it's insane. Anyway, on my last night we went to see Bridesmaids at the ol' cinema, it's freaking hilarious and everyone should go and see it! We cried from laughter, and that's only happened to me twice before in my life! EPIC film, none of this man humour with fake looking chicks and unnecessary nakedness, just brilliant writing and acting, <3 the main actress!

Okey, on to the topic at hand... TOPSHOP! I had a bit of a mass spending spree online and was super excited for it to arrive in the post....only to send it allll back! Lol, good and bad, at least it saved me £130! Thought i'd show you what i got, i did really like them (minus the coral jumper!) but i just didn't like them enough to justify the price. Do you guys do that?

Mustard Scarf - Love this, it looked so cute with denim and a white shirt, but it was suuper itchy, going to try and find a softer one :)

Cinnamon Jamie Skinny Jeans - These looked awesome on, but were way too tight and uncomfy, and I know that I'd always choose my comfy jeans over these.

Cream Angora Jumper - Cant find this on the website anymore! It was beautiful, but also itchy! Note to self, do not buy anything with wool in it!

These jeans were formally ill fitting, bootlegs, lol. I put them on inside out, pinned all the way down my legs (make sure the pins face up, or oouch!) then sewed them. It was so easy! :) I also hacked the top off to make them super low rise, then added some elastic and re-sewed the belt loops back on. So proud ^^

Also, it is mine and the boy's 3 year anniversary today, we are separated by about 4000 miles, but he still managed to make me all a flutter :) It makes me smile just writing about it!

Dr Harnik Redness Corrector Concealer Duo Review

Hello girlies! I was looking through my make-up collection, just having a wee browse for things I may have forgotten about, and discovered this concealer duo and thought I'd do a little review for you!

The green side is creamy and pigmented and brilliant when used with a small brush for blemishes prior to your regular concealer. The pink side is less creamy in consistency, however when used under the eye, it looks completely natural and truly banishes dark circles or shadows! Add a little powder and hey presto - wide awake eyes!

It is a very rare occasion indeed when the family are all in the same place! Collectively we live in: London, Cardiff and Torbay - and I'm usually in Falmouth or Canada! Probably won't be together again like this for a while as I'm moving to Canada, hopefully permanently! I am the youngest of 4... and the only girl! Which means I generally get on well with guys, although, I prefer having girlfriends. Me and my mum shared a tuna steak, it was amazing! Im pescatarian and haven't eaten meat for about 3 months now, and the tuna steak was so... meaty!? Lol, it was lush that is for sure. Wish it wasn't so expensive to buy, maybe I should take up fishing? :P I should also add that these photo's aren't edited, it really was that orange in there! lol :)

Elf Haul and Review!

Hello lovelies! :) First of all I want to thank Ashlie from Pearls and Diamonds, link here for featuring me on her beautiful blog! I have got so many new followers since yesterday and am so excited! So hello new people and welcome! :) Now on to my haul, here is what I got, not masses of goodies, but a few lovely treats!

e.l.f Mineral Foundation SPF 15 in 'Warm' £3.50

e.l.f Therapeutic Conditioning Balm in 'Strawberry Creme' £1.50

e.l.f Luscious Liquid Lipstick in 'Strawberry' £1.50

e.l.f Studio Matte Lip Color in 'Coral' £3.50

So first up is the matte lip color in coral, although I wouldn't call it coral, its more like a pale pink. I was very surprised that it actually suited me as pale colours usually look ridiculous on me. It is very pigmented and soft and isn't drying for a matte shade, bonus! Im still on the lookout for an actual coral lip colour, recommend me some?

Next is the liquid lipstick in strawberry. I love this! It smells minty and tastes good too, with that slight tingly sensation you get from mint flavoured lip products. It is is soft and non sticky with a nicely pigmented gloss finish. I definitely want to collect some more colours from this range!

And lastly is the lip balm in strawberry creme, me and my old housemates love this! Its like vaseline, but not as greasy and in a tube! It just melts onto the lips and moisturises for ages and ages. I had the vanilla flavoured one which is nice but it leaves a white residue on my lips, not a good look! So i got the pink one, which sorted the problem, even though the pigmentation is very minimal.

I have included a picture of my natural lip colour as lip products tend to look different on everyone!:

And finally, the mineral foundation in warm. This is my first ever foray into mineral products! In terms of coverage, it is comparable to mac's mineralize skinfinish natural, it is build-able, but you would have to use a lot of product for a medium coverage. It also has a very subtle shimmer, which creates more of a brightening effect, which is actually really pretty. I also love the fact it has SPF, so you can dust it on during the day as added sun protection instead of using creams and ruining your make-up. The only downside is the size of the tub, its about 4.5cm in diameter and it is difficult to get a workable amount of product onto the brush. But for the price of £3.50, its an excellent setting/ finishing powder. I'll keep you posted on how long it lasts me!

I have been after the perfect nude blazer forever! I remember finding this one online a while ago but they never had my size. Sooo stoked i finally found it! It just transforms any outfit from boring to chic in an instant. The shirt from New Look was in the teenage section, its the most comfortable, soft piece! And i am in love with the colour of the Miss Selfridge shirt, its so bright and gorgeously silky :)

So if you follow me on twitter (which you probably don't seeing as i have like 12 followers haha) you would know that i went shopping with my mum today! It was really fun and i actually bought things! Naughty! You see, I haven't been shopping since last year as i'm saving like MAD for my year in Canada. I only spent £56 and I made about £160 on ebay this weekend, so i don't feel toooo guilty, plus I get to do a little haul post tomorrow which is exciting :) In the meantime, here are some jeans that i fell in love with in River Island, but couldn't bring myself to buy... they were £40 each! I refuse to spend more than $30 on jeans - I only wear Hollister, bought from America, haha. (and excuse the terrible quality pics from my awful awful phone camera) But yes, loving the colourful jeans, its about time we had a change from blue, don't you think?

Looking at it now, I've just realized that my fave t-shirt ever also has the MTV logo on it! :) Should have bought the t-shirt! *sigh* :)

On another note, Im absolutely sick of living at home, its not even been a month since i moved back after uni and a few days ago my laptop broke, so what did my parents do? This dress will always remind me of going to the little town of Drumheller in Canada, aptly named 'Dinosaur Capital of the World!' It is so bizarre, the town is literally sprinkled with dinosaurs. Including the worlds biggest T-rex! You can even venture inside the beast, notice the children climbing on its huge foot!

Elf Custom Palette

I love this little palette! The packaging is really sturdy and the colours are soft and pigmented.

I find that they stay on all day, especially when used with elf's eyelid primer.

Elf Studio Line Blush in Pink Passion

This is the perfect pink for me as it has a blue undertone. I have yellow toned skin, so all blushes tend to look very warm toned and slightly orange on me. This is just perfectly pink, my boyfriend said it made me look like I had just come in from being outside in the winter! It is also very pigmented and looks great on my friend who has pale, pink toned skin!

This is a great palette, full of everyday wearable colours. I find that the colour payoff varies between shades, but overall, it has a great scope for many different looks!

Long Distance Relationship

It's hard being in a long distance relationship. The person you love is never there to give you a cuddle after you've had a crap day, they are unreachable when you desperately need to talk to them about how your life is falling apart, about how you're terrified of the future and how much you desperately need and miss them. You only get to talk to them once a week, thus missing out on telling them the little hilarious things that have happened to you that day, as you will no doubt have forgotten them come Sunday. You feel so disconnected, living two separate lives, holding on to the tiny thread of hope that one day you will be together because you so madly believe that there is no one else in the world more perfect for you.

People think you're crazy that you've been in a long distance relationship for so many years, they don't understand how you do it. And even though you get your heart broken every.single.time you have to depart from one another, there are some good things about being in a long distance relationship!

It makes you appreciate the time you do have with them, there is no greater feeling than first seeing them coming off the train/plane, running up, wrapping your arms around them and hugging them as tightly as possible. Looking into their eyes, with butterflies in your stomach, feeling so impossibly happy and so at home and knowing that all the heartache leading up to this moment was well worth the wait.

Every touch from his warm hands sends shivers down your spine, you're all fuzzy and nervous and excited, looking forward to spending nights lying on a trampoline staring at the stars, locking yourselves in your room and spending the entire day intimately curled up in bed with junk food and movies, driving around doing errands, staring at them concentrating on the road and singing along to the same seven songs on the radio all day!

It is an emotional roller coaster, but i'm the type of person who thrives on change and after three years, our relationship is still new and exciting. I am so looking forward to the day when we can just live without the heartache and have goals of travelling the world together and the challenges that brings, but for now, I'm taking each day as it comes, everything happens for a reason and this waiting will come to an end... one day!
